Master's candidate · Systems innovator
Hi, I'm Joe — your full-stack repair engineer
Raised in Baldwin Park, now pursuing my Master's in Computer Science. I blend hardware mastery, academic research, and production-grade software to deliver repairs that actually transform how your devices perform.
Where engineering meets empathy
From volunteering at local community centers and helping students learn STEM, to building full-stack systems during my master’s program, I’ve seen how frustrating broken tech and downtime can be. My approach is simple: use structured diagnostics, communicate clearly, and deliver solutions people can rely on. Whether it’s repairing a family laptop, deploying an analytics dashboard, or supporting a class project, I focus on clarity, reliability, and long-term trust.
- M.S. Computer Science student at Cal State LA specializing in AI, data systems, and reliability.
- ~8 years repairing laptops, desktops, phones, and game consoles through Joe’s Tech Repair.
- Built containerized full-stack apps (Streamlit + FastAPI + DuckDB, Next.js + FastAPI) and deployed them with Docker.
- Taught STEM and computer science concepts to K–12 students from 2022–2023 through community programs.
Projects & engineering work
- EDA Dashboard – analytics platform with drift detection, fairness metrics, and interactive Plotly visuals.
- Schedulify – Next.js + FastAPI scheduling tool for syncing and planning classes.
- Embedded & IoT systems – multi-display interfaces, sensor-based monitoring prototypes, and automation workflows.
- AI + systems research – investigating wildfire detection with edge AI and energy-aware ML for microcontrollers.
How I work with clients
Response with context
Every intake triggers an automated workflow: you get a secure portal link, tracking updates, and service history so you're never in the dark.
Transparent diagnostics
Expect oscilloscope captures, kernel logs, and part-by-part status reports. You'll receive a human explanation plus the raw data.
Automation built-in
Most repairs include optional API hooks to your communication platform for future alerting and service requests.
Community-first
I sponsor robotics teams in Baldwin Park and run free weekend clinics to keep families connected.
Timeline & experience
Neighborhood repair beginnings
Started repairing phones, laptops, and game consoles for families in Baldwin Park. Built a reputation for quick turnaround, safe data practices, and dependable diagnostics.
Started UCR (Computer Engineering)
Began the engineering journey at UC Riverside with deep dives into C++, algorithms, hardware systems, and embedded design including compiler builds and systems projects.
STEM instructor & mentor
Taught K–12 students coding and engineering fundamentals, building hands-on lesson plans, robotics workshops, and problem-solving mentorship programs.
Joe’s Tech Repair – growth era
Expanded the side business into advanced board-level repairs, charge-port replacements, display work, diagnostics, and data recovery for iPhones and laptops.
Full-stack & systems engineering
Built containerized stacks, hardened FastAPI ingestion, deployed analytical dashboards, and standardized dev environments using Docker Compose for reproducibility.
Master’s in Computer Science (Cal State LA)
Dived into AI, ML, embedded systems, visualization, and distributed software with projects like Streamlit EDA dashboards, ML explainability pipelines, Next.js scheduling tools, and Arduino IoT prototypes.
Master’s thesis development
Collaborating with Prof. Pourhomayoun on thesis directions spanning AI-based wildfire detection, energy-aware edge ML, and real-time EDA dashboards for explainability and fairness.
